Summit ·Sep 8, 12:00 PM RAIN SUMMIT EAST PANEL TO HOST OVER 80 YEARS OF COMBINED RADIO EXPERIENCEThis year’s RAIN Summit East has such a packed agenda of speakers that it’s taking quite a few days to announce them all! Today we’re presenting the “Monetizing Internet Radio: From the Webcaster’s Perspective” panel. The panel includes Billy Freund of Triton Media, Andy Lipset of TargetSpot, Les Hollander of Pandora, Billy Freund is Executive Vice President with Triton Media Group (pictured left) and has 20 years experience developing, building, and managing sales and marketing operations. He has previously served as Senior Vice President for Westwood One and as a member of Katz Media Group.
RAIN Summit East is an official co-located event of the RAB/NAB Radio Show. It takes place Tuesday, September 28 in Washington D.C. The Summit will feature a long list of radio experts, from Bonneville president/CEO Bruce Reese to AccuRadio COO John Gehron. More details, and information on how to register, can be found here. MTV REMOVES URGE RADIO CHANNELS FROM VERIZON’S FiOS TVMTV’s Urge radio channels will no longer be heard through Verizon’s FiOS TV package, though they will still be available via AT&T’s U-Verse. Interestingly, Urge’s website has only a maintenance message. MTV reportedly “elected not to renew FiOS TV’s distribution of Urge Radio” under Verizon’s new carriage agreement. SPARK RADIO ADDS MULTITAKSING IN iPHONE APP UPDATESpark Radio, an aggregator of over 24,000 Internet radio streams, has updated its iPhone app with iOS4 multitasking abilities. The app is also available at a discounted price, $1.99, down from their original launch price of $6 (RAIN coverage here).
