![]() RAIN 9/15: RAIN announces finalists, judges for inaugural RAIN Internet Radio Awards RAIN SUMMIT EAST IN D.C. TO HOST AWARDS CEREMONYThe coming RAIN Summit East (now less than 2 weeks away!) will not only feature a line-up of informative speakers and enlightening panels, but will also host the presentation of the first-ever RAIN Internet Radio Awards!![]() The finalists in the category of “Best Overall Online Radio Service” include: Pandora, Radio Paradise, Radio.com (CBS Intereactive’s new streaming platform), CienRadios.com.ar from Argentina and Live365. Within the category of “Best Streaming Broadcast Station” are Boston’s WEEI, RadioWoodstock WDST, FOX News Radio, 1500 ESPN Twin Cities and Edmonton’s Hot 107. This award will go to the single broadcast station that has executed the best streaming strategy. The third category, “Best Overall Digital Strategy,” will honor the broadcast station, broadcast group, or online-only webcaster that has implemented the finest overall digital strategy — including not only the stream but mobile efforts, websites, video and on-demand content. Finalists include CBS Radio, ESPN Radio, Germany’s Laut.fm, Wolfgang’s Vault Radio and Jelli’s Crowdsourcing Service. Finally, we’ve introduced a fourth category within the RAIN Awards to honor the great webcasters that didn’t quite fit any of the 3 above categories. Finalists in this category include Classic 1260 KYA, HardRadio, LuxuriaMusic.com, Beatles-A-Rama and HealthRadio.net.
The Awards will be presented at RAIN Summit East, an official co-located event of the RAB/NAB Radio Show. It takes place Tuesday, September 28 in Washington D.C. The Summit will feature a long list of radio experts, from Bonneville president/CEO Bruce Reese to AccuRadio COO John Gehron. More details, and information on how to register, can be found here.
