Advice please. I’m a small Canadian broadcaster going before the CRTC for a new radio license next week – local news on the hour, every hour, with Christian talk programs in between, around the clock. I would love readers’ input as to how we should execute in getting more people to get our signal using streaming audio on the go. Thanks in advance!

I am currently using the Live365 technology on my T-Mobil Wing and it works well when you have a stable connection. I tested it driving at normal speeds and there is still some drop out. I experienced the same drop out when I assisted in testing Sirius radio back in 2000. Once wireless kicks in this is going to be a great tool. Listen to my broadcast at SOUNDCHECKNY on live365.

Am I’m missing something? What’s the news here. I can do that with anyone who broadcasts on my Mototola Q. Slow news day or is product placement a fee now on Rain? This is lame. Anyone who’s in the business knows they can be heard on cell phones for a while now.

My thoughts exactly Joe – Hundreds of net only stations already have this feature in place. I guess it all depends on how a marketing machine like Live 365 can make this sound like exciting news. Whoopti doo – Live 365 does something and the media grabs it and makes it sound like they are the first to distribute this technology.
I actually tried this and unfortunatly, I dont care for their service.

Hey Ed and Joe , Thanks for the positive input.
I have been using it for 3 years and if you compare Live 365 to trying to own a radio station then it is a God send. Lots of software issues and growth problems we are the guinea pig generation. I use the Nokia 6700 phone to play my station. Once you get the software loaded, it works great especially for ALPHA and BETA stages.
Bottom line, now you can hear 1000 times the number of stations than satellite monopoly for half the price. Once all the bugs are out it will be great. I have bigger issues with the cell phone companies then Live 365 at least they are putting all their money into trying to get better instead of lame customer service practices that leave you looking elsewhere. Have a happy life.

What’re you a plant for Live365?
Really sir, you just discovered something that has been in existance for years. I don’t give a rats ass about 100000 channels run by people who think everyone should hear what they listen to. Train wrecks, garbage programming and crap can fill even the largest spectrums. I’m merely interested in progress in the MEDIUM not some company’s MARKETING of a manner in which to get THEIR programming. Thanks, you have a happy life and before you go attacking people for not thinking what you think is cool, think about your statements. Satellite Monopoly? Really, give me a break. No one is forcing anyone to have it and the last thing I need is some beta alpha crap loaded onto my cell phone when there’s more than enough free content out there for me to listen to that doesn’t require me to do anything other than go to it. Thanks
