Now, a company called CelleCast is offering customers a way to tune into terrestrial radio broadcasts with the With a tagline boasting that “audio on demand just got easy”, CelleCast lets customers use their mobile devices to dial a phone number and access the company’s directory of recorded and archived broadcast radio content. An A/V guided tour that launches upon visiting the website tells visitors to “think of it as a DVR for radio.” The comparison seems fairly apt, as the service lets users turn their own phones Right now, the list of available programming is a little sparse, but the product seems to have only been launched fairly recently. The service requires no additional downloads, so it appears that there won’t be too many barriers for users to get started easily with the service. For a subscription fee of $9.95/month, CelleCast will offer the service to customers free of commercials. However, the service does give users the ability to get more info from advertisers at the push of a button on their phones. Users can also create and manage playlists of their preferred broadcast material.
