Arbitron releases online ratings for September, October ·Dec 17, 10:35 AM The comScore Arbitron Online Radio Ratings for the months of September and October were released this week, with only Clear Channel Online of the participating webcasters showing a noticeable increase in listenership for the period. By contrast, the three big Internet-only webcasters who subscribe to the comScore Arbitron report — AOL Radio, Yahoo! LAUNCHcast, and Live 365 — all showed continued declines, perhaps as their corporate owners responded to concerns over high royalty obligations and reduced promotion of the Internet radio services. Both AOL Radio and LAUNCHcast are now down roughly 50% from their late-2005/early-2006 peaks, as shown in RAIN’s summary chart at the bottom of this story. The RL Select network of independent webcasters also showed growth as the network was in the process adding new webcasters. The ratings are estimates of U.S.-only listenership based on a panel of approximately 200,000 web surfers. Note that only subscribing stations are displayed, leaving off such major players as Pandora, Last.fm, and the streaming initiatives of terrestrial broadcasters other than Clear Channel. The following is a screenshot of the October results:
