BENETTON LAUNCHES NET RADIO STATIONLeisurewear brand Benetton has launched a live streaming radio station to accompany the launch of its autumn and winter collection. The stream is simple and “live” — meaning not customizable and it’s possible that listeners tune in to the middle of songs. Programming seems to focus on hits-oriented adult contemporary. Read more from Media Week here and find the new Net radio station here. RADIOBALL CONCEPT “ROLLS” ACROSS FM DIALThe Radioball (pictured) is an FM radio concept device without any dials, screens or buttons. Like other similar devices (here and here), the user rolls the ball to tune in to different frequencies.
Its designers tell Core77 (which highlighted the device as part of its Core77 Design Awards) that though “very soon the FM band will be part of our memories…there is something interesting in those analog memories — fussiness, imprecision, randomness, discovery.” They tried to replicate that experience with their device.
