2010’S TOP-BILLING STATION MAKING 2011 ALL ABOUT DIGITALThe top billing radio station of 2010, Washington D.C.‘s WTOP, is aggressively forging ahead online. The station launched a redesigned website earlier this year and has since doubled its staff (including two full-time traffic Tweeters, more here) and restructured its online department.
In recent weeks WTOP also unveiled a mobile version of its website, which has since become one of its top 10 sections.
“We are in the process of transforming our operation into a digital news organization,” said director of digital media John Meyer. He says the company’s goal is to “further the story across as many platforms as we can.” Talkers Magazine has more coverage here.
PANDORA TO RELEASE Q2 FINANCIALS 8/25Pandora will release its second quarter financial results on Thursday, August 25. A conference call will take place at 5pm Eastern to discuss the results and a live audiocast of the event will be available on the Pandora Investor Relations website (here). SHUFFLER.FM REVAMPS, LAUNCHING iPAD APPMusic service Shuffler.fm has redesigned its website and has submitted an iPad app to Apple for approval. The service takes mp3 files from music blogs across the web and streams them one-after-another, much like a radio service (though the site describes itself as an “audio magazine”).
