From Digital Music News: “A number of investors are wary of music-related startups, thanks to an incredibly high level of industry disruptiveness. Others see opportunity in that murkiness, and that is fueling a number of adventurous startups.

“Just recently, a number of investors chipped $3 million into DeepRockDrive, a startup specialized in live concert streaming. The platform allows bands to perform in a studio, and webcast the action to a globally-diverse audience…

“‘We’re definitely pushing the envelope of what live content can feel like on the internet, while beaming community feedback instantly into our live high-definition studio in Las Vegas,’ said company CTO Jeff Henshaw.

“Other investors in the circle include Launch founder David Goldberg, Danny Socolof, and Bill Curbishley.”
