Veteran webcast operation RadioIO is wrapping up a month-long expansion of new music offerings, with the service set to be streaming 60 unique channels by February 1.

RadioIO’s new channels are split up over mainstream music formats (Pop, Classic Rock) and more niche channels (Roots of Rock, Jam Bands, Women in Rock).

RadioIO founder Mike Roe compared the service’s offerings to the music choices available on satellite radio, but for the Internet/mobile spaces. “We can increase, modify and enhance our channel lineup infinitely without having to build another tower or reallocate spectrum, and do it at a tiny fraction of the cost that these other broadcasters would incur,” Roe said in a press release.
