RAIN ANALYSIS: Seeqpod is operating in a gray area of the law. They’re pointing to (and stringing together) music files that may be up on the web without the permission of the copyright owner, but Seeqpod’s position is that because they’re not hosting the files themselves, they’re not the ones violating copyright. Meanwhile, the cost of broadband reportedly fell slightly, with users claiming monthly bills of $34.50 down from $36 in 2005. Only 10% use dial-up connections, with 62% of those users claiming they don’t want broadband and 35% saying they would switch if broadband prices would decrease.
