RAIN 9/16: NY's WRXP now online, adds 3 Net-only streams plus video

101.9 WRXP LAUNCHES SIMULCAST, THREE ADD’L STREAMS, PLUS VIDEO CHANNEL: Emmis-owned 101.9 WRXP NYC has launched its online simulcast, plus three custom online-only channels focusing on new rock music, B-sides and “deep tracks,” as well as local acts from the Northeast U.S. region. In addition, WRXP also launched “RXP TV,” an online stream delivering 24 hours of music videos and interviews. Links to all of the new channels are available on the RXP home page here.

SLACKER RELEASES NEXT-GEN DEVICE: On Tuesday Slacker introduced the G2 Personal Radio Player. The Wi-Fi device is smaller than its predecessors, has longer battery life and still tunes in to Slacker basic radio for free. The player goes on sale today (the 4GB model costs $200) and will also be in Best Buy by the end of the year. For more, read Electronista’s coverage here.

JENNIFER LANE LAUNCHES TWO NET RADIO BLOGS: Jennifer Lane, founder of Net Radio Sales, has started two new blogs about Internet radio: What2Listen2 and Audio4cast. The former features reviews of webcasts and Internet radio services, most recently posting a quick history and review of WOXY. Audio4cast focuses on the business side of Internet radio. Both are recommended reading.
