RAIN 10/17: Final debate huge for CBS Radio streams ·Oct 17, 10:04 AM FINAL PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE DRIVES UP CBS RADIO ONLINE LISTENING 200%Listeners flocked to CBS Radio news stations’ streams Wednesday evening to hear the final Presidential debate, driving up listenership by nearly 200% compared to the previous Wednesday. All Access reports that WCBS New York in particular experienced a 352% increase. WCBS’ listenership increase fell just short of their 376% gain during the Vice Presidential debates. Overall listenership for CBS Radio online stations increased 189% during that debate (RAIN coverage here). SIRIUS XM UNVEILS PORTABLE RECEIVER THAT CAN RECORDIn the midst of employee lay-offs and dissappointing stock performances, Sirius XM has debuted XMp3 — a portable satellite radio receiver with recording capabilities. Three channels can be simultaneously recorded, with total capacity topping out at 100 hours. It also holds mp3 files for playback. AOL MUSIC TOPS MUSIC SITES FOR SEPTEMBERComScore’s media metrix report for September revealed AOL Music as the top music website in terms of unique hits. The site received just over 23 million unique hits in September, topping Yahoo! Music which received 19 million. Third was MTV Music with 18 million hits, trailed by MySpace Music and ARTISTdirect.
