RAIN 10/24: Clear Channel's iPhone app breaks into Top 10 ·Oct 24, 10:09 AM CC’S I HEART RADIO NO. 1 FREE MUSIC APP FOR iPHONE Clear Channel Radio’s iHeartRadio application for the iPhone is currently the top free music app, beating out Pandora and AOL Radio. R&R reports (here) that iHeartRadio is also in the Top 10 of the overall free applications section of Apple’s iPhone app store. iHeartRadio was launched two weeks ago and originally featured 10 Clear Channel stations with more to be added each week. It also features album art, lyrics and streaming ads, as well as access to CC Internet stations erockster and Pride Radio (RAIN coverage here). BLACKBERRY BOLD TO BE RELEASED NOV. 4Research In Motion will release their new Blackberry model, Bold, for AT&T on November 4. The Bold features Wi-FI, 3G, HSDPA, and EDGE network compatibility. Audio-wise, it has a standard 3.5mm headphone jack along with stereo bluetooth. This will make listening to Internet radio (like FlyCast and Slacker, both of which recently added Blackberry support) all the more easier. For more, read the Washington Post‘s coverage here.
OURSTAGE RELEASES iPHONE APPiPhone users have yet another option when it comes to listening to Internet radio as OurStage Radio launches their application for the device. OurStage’s website features Internet radio of sorts in playlist fashion, which incorporates music added by independent artists. On the iPhone app, listeners receive music recommendations based on their genre preferences and can also vote up or down for tracks.
