SPACIAL AUDIO OFFERS NET RADIO SDK FOR FREE

Austin-based Spacial Audio is offering its new Internet radio software development kit (SDK) to broadcasters, webcasters, CDN/stream providers, vendors and developers. Spacial has set up a “wiki” with more info here.

ROYALTY LOGIC OBJECTS TO CRB’S PROPOSED RULEMAKING

Royalty Logic recently filed comments with the CRB in response to the proposed “census” royalty reporting (RAIN coverage here), objecting to the requirement that copyright owners inspect the royalty reports themselves at SoundExchange offices. Royalty Logic CEO Ron Gertz said, “Once upon a time that kind of inspection might have made sense, but once upon a time companies kept books and records in printed files that could be reviewed and analyzed by a human at a desk…the CRB’s proposed rules would require hundreds of digital music services to produce gigabytes of data on every single performance of every single sound recording they transmit during the year.” For more, read Royalty Logic’s press release here.
