WIMAX REPORTEDLY COMING TO SILICON VALLEYWiMax provider ClearWire says the service will be commercially available in Silicon Valley some time next year. WiMax tech provides wireless Net connections over a 30-mile radius, with network speeds similar to wired broadband connections. This means a WiMax tower can blanket an entire metro area with wireless Internet, including in-vehicle use. “Besides adding the service in Silicon Valley, Clearwire expects to have WiMax operating in a number of other U.S. cities, including Atlanta, Las Vegas, Chicago, Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, Honolulu, Philadelphia and Seattle by the end of next year,” writes the San Jose Mercury News, here.
