CBS announced yesterday it will sell ads on “The Adam Carolla Podcast” (which has been available since shortly after Carolla was let go from his syndicated morning show job at CBS’s KLSX-FM/Los Angeles in February). CBS will also promote the podcast across its station and website properties. Additionally, a new online radio channel called K-Ace will feature “segments from Carolla’s popular podcasts interspersed with rock music and programming selected by Carolla, ‘The Aceman,’ himself.” K-ACE, scheduled to launch September 28, will be available via the CBS Radio streaming platform, Yahoo! Music Radio, AOL Radio, and on mobile devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch and Blackberry. “The Adam Carolla Podcast” can be heard for free on-demand at www.adamcarolla.com and is additionally available for download on iTunes. NEW ARCHOS PORTABLE MEDIA PLAYER BILLED AS INTERNET TABLETThe Archos 5 Internet Tablet, which has just hit stores, looks like a great way to access online content (video and audio, like Internet radio) via Wi-Fi or by connecting to your phone’s 3G via Bluetooth. In fact, it reportedly includes an integrated Internet radio widget. And since it’s based on Google’s Android platform, there will likely be dedicated apps designed for it. You can read about its video (including DVR) capabilities, but it handles MP3, WMA, Protected WMA, WAV (PCM/ADPCM), AAC, AAC+, Flac, OGG Vorbis audio files.
