Logically, in three short years, your visitors and listeners might very well be more likely to hit your site and stream with a mobile phone than on a desktop. The tech business analyst expects mobile to become the primary revenue driver for the industry in 2010. They expect 52 million smartphones to sell this year, for nearly $17 billion in shipment revenue. That clearly tops the expected notebook sales of more than 30 million units. CBS LAUNCHES ONLINE “GRAMMY RADIO”CBS Radio has launched “Grammy Radio,” an online radio stream that spotlights the work of Grammy-nominated artists in anticipation of the January 31 awards.
Somewhat uniquely, the stream features DJ voiceover. Mashable, however, quips, “but as far as we can tell, she mostly plugs the Grammy awards ceremony by listing nominees.” The awards show airs on CBS. Check out Grammy Radio here. Read Mashable here. SHERWOOD WI-FI RADIO SPORTS LARGE DISPLAY, iPOD DOCK Sherwood’s iNet-2.0 tabletop radio is quite striking, most prominently featuring an 8-inch display. The device streams Internet radio via Wi-Fi while playing music and displaying photos via its 1GB internal storage. Alarm clock functions and an iPod dock are built in as well.
