KPIG Radio is an award-winning “Americana” radio station that has long been known for its quirky sense of humor, unique music and live DJ format. As the first radio station in the United States to stream on the Internet, in 1995, KPIG has created a loyal worldwide audience including original listeners of the famous KFAT (1976-1982), its predecessor, and the station continues to stream online at www.kpig.com. Founded by the late Laura Ellen Hopper, KPIG has been nominated four times for “Triple A Station of the Year” by Radio and Records Magazine, voted one of the top 5 “Old School” radio stations in the country by Entertainment Weekly and has received numerous “Station of the Year” awards by community newspapers.“We are thrilled at the opportunity to partner with Dial Global to expand the terrestrial reach of KPIG radio across the USA so listeners will be able to Tune In, Turn On, and Pig Out,” commented Adam Nathanson, President and CEO of Mapleton Communications, owner of KPIG and 34 other radio station in the Western United States. “KPIG is entering its 20th Anniversary year in 2008 and I can not think of a better way to celebrate than to share and make KPIG radio available throughout the USA” added Nathanson.
