Dial Global Digital 24/7 Networks and Mapleton Communications jointly announced today the syndication of the legendary KPIG Radio. The award-winning Santa Cruz-Monterey, CA based station will be available to local operators beginning December 31, 2007.

KPIG Radio is an award-winning “Americana” radio station that has long been known for its quirky sense of humor, unique music and live DJ format.

As the first radio station in the United States to stream on the Internet, in 1995, KPIG has created a loyal worldwide audience including original listeners of the famous KFAT (1976-1982), its predecessor, and the station continues to stream online at www.kpig.com.

Founded by the late Laura Ellen Hopper, KPIG has been nominated four times for “Triple A Station of the Year” by Radio and Records Magazine, voted one of the top 5 “Old School” radio stations in the country by Entertainment Weekly and has received numerous “Station of the Year” awards by community newspapers.“We are thrilled at the opportunity to partner with Dial Global to expand the terrestrial reach of KPIG radio across the USA so listeners will be able to Tune In, Turn On, and Pig Out,” commented Adam Nathanson, President and CEO of Mapleton Communications, owner of KPIG and 34 other radio station in the Western United States.

“KPIG is entering its 20th Anniversary year in 2008 and I can not think of a better way to celebrate than to share and make KPIG radio available throughout the USA” added Nathanson.

KPIG’s unique programming will be formatted for national satellite distribution and local replay by affiliated stations. Local affiliates will adopt the station moniker KPIG/Pig Radio, and enjoy a 24/7 Live format with support from Dial Global. Additionally, Dial Global will have an arrangement to provide KPIG to stations for use on HD.

“Here’s a format that radio listeners really get passionate about, done by some of its pioneers,” said Kirk Stirland, President of Dial Global Programming. “KPIG has terrific awareness in the trade, and now, we’ll provide a way to take the KPIG experience to listeners everywhere.”

Dial Global and MJI Interactive are owned by Triton Media Group, LLC. Its suite of applications, which include Mass to One, Stream the World and Tune Genie allow radio stations to launch integrated marketing programs… Triton is a portfolio company of a fund managed by Oaktree Capital Management, L.P., a leading global investment management firm.
