Music Tech event to feature SoundExchange webcaster panel ·May 6, 11:42 AM KURT HANSON WILL LEAD OFF SESSION WITH “STATE OF THE INDUSTRY”SoundExchange, the organization that administers digital sound recording performance royalties, is organizing a educational panel session geared towards webcasters for the San Fran Music Tech Summit event May 17th at San Francisco’s Hotel Kabuki.
RAIN publisher Kurt Hanson will begin the session with his “State of the Industry” presentation. Pandora founder Tim Westergren is the first confirmed panel speaker, with others to follow. SoundExchange will be represented by VP of New Media and External Affairs Bryan Calhoun (who participated in our RAIN Summit East last fall in Philadelphia) and Licensing & Enforcement Manager Kyle Funn (whose “pecha kucha” presentation at the recent RAIN Summit West can be seen here). The San Fran Music Tech Summit is a semi-annual gathering of “developers, entrepreneurs, investors, service providers, journalists, musicians and organizations” in the music and technology space. The first apps are scheduled to hit this month.
