Singer-songwriter Jude to speak at RAIN Las Vegas Summit ·Apr 2, 10:11 AM Internet radio should be one of the best things that’s ever happened to the music industry — giving exposure to, and encouraging the purchase of, music in dozens of genres and by thousands of artists that don’t receive significant AM/FM radio airplay. But how can the power of Internet radio best be harnessed for the benefit of musicians and labels? That’s one of many topics we’ll explore at the RAIN Las Vegas Summit, on Monday afternoon, April 14th, from 12n to 5pm at the And this year, rather than speculating about the tastes and needs of musicians, we’re going to have one of America’s most talented singer-songwriters, Jude (pictured, third from left), joining us for that panel (and, hopefully, performing a brief set of songs at some point in the day). You may know Jude from his acclaimed Maverick Records 1998 release “No One is Really Beautiful,” his song “I Know” on the multi-platinum “City of Angels” soundtrack, his featured music on such TV shows as “Lost” and “What About Brian,” his more-recent independent releases (including 2004’s “Sarah,” one of CD Baby’s top-selling CDs of all time), or, last year, his Starbucks-promoted band, the Low Stars, whose overall sound echoed such great harmony-driven acoustic rock artists as the Eagles and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young. (It was my personal favorite album release of 2007.) Other featured speakers at the RAIN Las Vegas Summit will include Emmis Radio NYC cluster manager Dan Halyburton, Ronning Lipset Radio’s Eric Ronning, Edison Media Research’s Tom Webster, Liquid Compass’s Zachary Lews, and many, many other key players in the field. We hope you’ll join us! Great airfares are still And we’ve got 12 remaining complimentary registrations to give away today, compliments of sponsor Ando Media! Just write us at summit@kurthanson.com. RAIN,
Check out my new songs!
I moved from Toronto to see if Vegas likes my music as much as Canada. I quit my job as a music teacher to prove that I have the chops to practice what I preach and follow my dreams of becoming a professional Singer/Songwriter. I will have 4 more songs released in May and my full album is slated for late ’08.
I am getting a lot of encouragement but I am constantly trying to get more feedback. Please let me know what you think of my music. I am open to any comments or criticism.
I enjoy songwriting as much as performing and I am comfortable doing both. I have a very talented band in Las Vegas and we are ready to start gigging more regularly. We can do an acoustic set or we can rock it out. We have plenty of covers and originals.
If you would like to see or hear me perform, I host a Singer/Songwriter, Indie Rock Night “resodence” (local sound) at the Thunderbird Lounge inside the Aruba Hotel in Las Vegas every other Monday night from 8:30 to midnight. It is located at 1215 S. Las Vegas Blvd. www.myspace.com/resodence
Feel free to add me on myspace if you like what you hear.
Please enjoy,
Sharon Paquette
